Hood Warfare 2 Progression: Reputation, Challenges & Skins
How Hood Warfare 2 progression works: reputation levels, the 13 tracked weapon challenges, the 5-metre point-blank rule and the seven skin sets per gun.
How does progression work in Hood Warfare 2?
Three tracks run at once: reputation (your account level, which unlocks weapons and equipment), weapon challenges (per-gun objectives that unlock attachments) and skin kills (which unlock cosmetics). They advance in the same matches, but only the challenge track is per-weapon — so committing to one gun pushes two tracks at once.
What are the 13 weapon challenges?
The game tracks thirteen challenge types per weapon, from raw kills to iron-sight kills in objective modes. Each one shows as a labelled bar in the weapon’s challenge screen, and finishing them is the only way to obtain attachments — there is no shop and no level shortcut for them.
| Challenge | In-game label |
|---|---|
| Kills | KILLS |
| Headshots | HEADSHOT KILLS |
| Longshots | LONGSHOT KILLS |
| Point-blanks | POINT-BLANK KILLS |
| Hipfire | HIPFIRE KILLS |
| ADS | AIMED KILLS |
| Doubles | DOUBLE KILLS |
| Triples | TRIPLE KILLS |
| Best streak | KILL STREAK |
| Crouched | CROUCHED KILLS |
| Suppressed | SUPPRESSED KILLS |
| Objective | KILLS IN OBJECTIVE MODES |
| No optic | IRON-SIGHT KILLS |
How close is a point-blank kill?
Under five metres. The game’s own challenge text reads Get {N} point-blank kills (under 5 meters) with the …, so that is the exact range the counter uses rather than a community estimate. If you are clearing Chicago Mall rooms, you are almost certainly banking point-blank progress.
What do UNLOCKS AT LEVEL, MAX and LOCKED mean?
They are the three states on the progression ladder. UNLOCKS AT LEVEL marks an item still gated behind reputation, LOCKED marks it as not yet available, and MAX marks a track as complete. Seeing MAX on a weapon’s challenge panel means you have taken that gun as far as the challenges go.
Are the XP numbers published?
No. The level thresholds and challenge requirements live in progression and save-game assets as binary properties that are not readable as text, so any site quoting exact XP figures is guessing. The in-game panels show your live progress against each requirement.
How do skins unlock?
Through kills with that specific weapon. The progression label reads “KILLS WITH THIS WEAPON”, and each gun has seven sets: Default, Desert, Forest, Gold, Platinum, Solid Color and Urban. Because the counter is per gun, the skin you want is usually the last thing you get, not the first.
| Track | Unlocks | Reset behaviour |
|---|---|---|
| Reputation | Weapons and equipment | Permanent, account-wide |
| Weapon challenges | Attachments for that gun | Per weapon, never shared |
| Skin kills | Cosmetics for that gun | Per weapon, never shared |
Is there a story campaign or a mission mode?
There is no campaign, but the build does contain a mission system — mission entries carry an ID, a target, an XP reward and conditions such as needing a specific weapon or game mode. Treat it as a structured objectives layer rather than a single-player story.
Where do I go next?
Progression decides what you can equip; the tier list decides which gun is worth the grind in the first place, and the attachment page covers what each challenge is actually working towards.
