How does scoring work in Turf War?

Turf War scores territory held, not kills. The Steam page says it plainly: ‘Gangs fight for control of turf around the map. Earn points for the territory your gang holds, and push the other team off theirs.’ Capture a zone and your gang banks points for as long as you hold it. First to the target score wins.

Because the points come from ground rather than bodies, the mode rewards rhythm: take a zone, defend it, then push the other team off theirs when the moment is right. Chasing one fight across the map while your corners sit empty hands the scoreboard to the other gang.

Why do kills alone lose you the match?

A high kill count means nothing if your gang holds no turf. Since points come only from territory you control, a team that camps for kills while the other side captures zones still loses on the scoreboard. The in-game description pushes back on kill-chasing for a reason: taking corners and holding them is the whole point.

Playing the objective also feeds progression. The Objective weapon challenge tracks kills in objective modes, and Turf War is one of them, so fighting over ground doubles as attachment progress. Attachments unlock through per-weapon challenges, never purchase.

Which weapons suit Turf War?

Match the weapon to the job: mid-range guns suit holding ground you already control, while SMGs suit pushing in to retake it. Assault rifles and rifles are natural defenders on a capture point, and the Mac-10 and Uzi are natural attackers for close-quarters retakes.

Exact stat values are visible in-game but are not published from the files, so treat this as a role guide rather than a damage ranking.

What does the Turf War HUD tell you?

The build ships with dedicated HUD assets for Turf War: a capture-point icon, a conquest objective widget and an objective progress bar. The engine’s internal name for the mode is Conquest, which is why those widgets carry that label even though the public name is Turf War.

Practically, that means control state and objective progress sit on screen while you fight. You always know which zones are being contested and how a push is going, so there is no excuse for standing on the wrong corner.

Which maps support Turf War?

All four Hood Warfare 2 maps support Turf War: Downtown, Suburbs, The Trenches and Chicago Mall. Every map in the game supports every mode, so you can queue Turf War anywhere. The full six-mode lineup is covered on the game modes page.
